The Boeing 747 is a large commercial wide body passenger and cargo transport aircraft launched by Boeing in the late 1960s under the leadership of the United States Air Force. At around 9:00 am on March 31, 2014, a 747 aircraft belonging to All Nippon Airways took off from Tokyo Haneda International Airport with 500 passengers on its way to Okinawa. This was the last flight of a Boeing 747 in the Japanese aviation industry.

In July 2020, Boeing announced that it would cease production of all 747 series aircraft by 2022. On December 6, 2022 local time, the last Boeing 747 aircraft was taken offline.

On January 31, 2023 (local time), the world's last Boeing 747 aircraft, No. 1572, was delivered to Atlas Airlines at the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington, USA.
