About the aircraft
The Vixen Vulture is a single-seat, propellor-driven fighter aircraft designed by Vixen to replace the RAF's aging biplanes. It competed with other British designs of the era, such as the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane. The Vulture saw combat in the Battle of Britain, the North-African campaign and in mainland Europe. It saw numerous modifications throughout its service life, ranging from armament changes to new wing designs.
Innovation in jet propulsion rendered the Vulture, as well as other propellor-driven aircraft obsolete. Development and production was stopped in 1947.
Features:
- Custom wings, stabilizers, control surfaces
- Custom gear
- Realistic top speed, roll rate, pitch rate
- Special RAF roundel
- Paint job using colours from real RAF liveries
Controls
- Standard SP controls.
- VTOL for flaps.
- AG8 to unlock the tailwheel. Lock into the natural position when retracting please.
Special thanks, and builder's note
If I'm honest, I didn't expect to finish this build. I have a bad habit of not finishing builds. How long have I not posted?!
I wanted to make another WW2 fighter after quitting a previous one. I decided to not give this one a fancy functional cockpit, although I knew I had the skills to do so. Flexibility and part count were the deciding factors for me.
This is also the first time I am using EternalDarkness's wing technique. What a smart lad he is.
I'm particularly fond of the propellor, and tail. Just the whole fuselage I guess. I think I could make the wings a bit more curvy though. Like on a Spit. I'll definitely try to improve with my next build. Might be a bush plane, by the way. Wait, those don't have curvy wings. Oh, well.
The RAF roundels on the sides were painful, but they came out pretty nice. Luckily, otherwise I'd have to throw them in the trash.
I'm sorry for the weird flight model. I shall build the aesthetic model and the flight model seperately next time.
Thank you to everyone who gave input and feedback, especially Vincent (Othawne) and BoganBoganTheMan for taking screenshots. And Blue0Bull for the canopy.
Enjoy

Amazing and good job
Idk if its just me but it looks alot like the bf 108 or the bu 181
Hundredth upvote!
@BologneseEX yes
@Destroyerz117 thankums!
thankums!
@Destroyerz117 again
@Destroyerz117 lol
@StallFlight I get what you mean and respect that but I don't think the landing gear should feel like it's being held together by twigs
@Thenoscoper90 Well real pilots also have to try to land without breaking the gear, but I might
@StallFlight I mean I like it that way it's fun to try landing without destroying the plane because the landing gear is jelly but can u make a version that doesn't break when u land?
@Thenoscoper90 yea
lol
Plane is amazing but the landing gear has less durability than wood meaning the landing gear sucks
@temporaryaccount Kein problem! Tagged you.
@StallFlight ok, thanks
@ND40X There's a checkbox in the ortho/images menu.
@SpiritusRaptor Thanks mate! Means alot from you :)
Looks authentic!
@StallFlight also, how did you remove the designer circle in DesignerSettings?
@StallFlight ok
@ND40X Hard to explain. Essentially I made a roundel using lots of little fuselage parts. Then I nudged and rotated them accordingly.
@SubXTribe I used DesignerSettings and set the colour to blue.
@StallFlight Hey, can u tell me what Designer mod that u use?
@StallFlight Hi, Could you possibly give me some advice on how you made the roundel on the side of the fuselage? If you don't want to that's fine. It's because I'm going to make a build/entry for a challenge
@Mmdben If you read the convo with BogdanX below you can see I forgot to disable collisions on a part. Couldn't find the part and couldn't resolve it. Sorry.
I love how simple yet fun it is to fly.
It rolls to the right sharply...Am I missing something in the plane?
