In December of 1912, shipbuilding firm Rotherhithe and Thames Marine published a concept for an ‘Airborne liner’, which would carry 15 to 25 people to the edges of the British empire in opulent luxury. Although work began on the prototype, It was dismantled for resources during the First World War.
