T-25B Advanced Power armor

17.3k Rob119WithA105mmHowitzer  9 months ago

I looked at the rules and I think this is aloud? Idk here we go

During the Cold War the US Army needed a advanced armor to harbor the harsh conditions if need be, so Rob industry's and Albatross Tech, would design a armor that could handle both extreme cold, heat, and radiation. (if it came to it) And so the XT-25 would be placed in the top spot at the army's "Future Soilders" contest, just barely beating a set of what looked like some wire rapped around some metal tubes. This was the only female version made however, seeing as it's shape was deemed uncomfortable and ill suited. This really was a sight to see

Robo-Lenin could be thought of as a vampire, but instead of eating it just kills and instead of random people it near-exclusively targets the North Korean elite.
    Not very vampire-like, huh...

@Graingy honestly Robo-Lenin looks more like a evil fiction guy. Wich has its down sides but over all isn't all bad.

    @Robomo119E Yeah. Kinda a pain.
Could very well just be bias-that-I-cannot-remember-the-specific-name-of, but it feels like there's a lot more unrealistic things made to be the maker's "type" than practical depictions.
Tbh idk what Robo-Lenin would count as tho.
Man is built like a steel pole and his only aerodynamics-improving feature is his near-polished forehead.

@Graingy because that o so was a option for me. So I opted for a somthing equally curvy and practical, wich the "practical" part tends to be overlooked when doing these kinda things, trust me I've been on this sight (and others) long enough that "practical" isn't a word to some people when doing these kinda things

@Graingy we should be thankful also that's it not a revealing bikini with some metal plates and a helmet

    Also in other words:
Armour should look powerful, not sexualized.
It's better for a woman to be a capable soldier than some curvy idol.
Gonna be honest seeing this thing and its slim upper half kinda ticked me off, so tbh there was a lot of passive aggression in the last few messages.
But yeah, good luck with your modelling endeavours! Use your skills wisely!

@Graingy yeah. But this is also my first time in such matters, but now that I'm comfortable with the process of doing this, I think I can go a long way from here. And thanks for the advice btw it's gunna help alot.

In a more me-specific instance, when I was designing Robo-Lenin I chose to make the waist very flat. Simpler to build yes, after all my skills are generally primitive and this was my first-ever such model, but I felt it gave a more sturdy appearance, even if Robo-Lenin was a more speed-oriented design.
Maybe I'm just going off, though.
I've never been much the artist, especially in regards to visualization.

Often form is best when it follows function.
That's how we get the F-22.
A design is so much more satisfying when you know that it could work.
Or at least, if it gives the illusion of practicality.
That's why the Jaegers from Pacific Rim were so awesome: they looked like something that could exist, unlike the countless sleek, senselessly fast, and absurd-crested things Japan has cranked out, no matter how iconic they may be.

@Graingy fair enough. I do think I went a little slim on the armor, was going for a more slick non tanky look, but I see your point. I think all it needs is som shoulder pouldrons, a little bit more waist, and less exaggerated curves. And this could look Menecing

I don't really see the point in trying to emphasize a "feminine" build in power armour. After all, you're already covering the body in a good few inches of modern engineering. Personally even in fiction I think a more broad appearance would look far better and much, much, much more imposing, while also being more realistic.

@Graingy yeah, but I also wanted to make the armor form fitting like a T-51 suit does in Fallout 3 and new vegas, but it is kinda hard to make somthing form fitting, straight, and powerful looking. When your dealing with the average Russian woman build. However I am planning on Doing another entry with somthing.... more American... perhaps somthing to do with the Enclave......

    Pretty much.
Idk what "female version" entails but visually I think it'd harm the aesthetic to make it different.
    Case in point: Imperial Stormtroopers.
It's a homogenous mass of military awesomeness!

@Graingy bulk up the armor? Like make it bigger?

I suggest calling in the propaganda department to give suggestions on how to improve the appearance to allow for greater impressions of strength.
Bulk the whole think up for more uniform form and I think you'll have a real killer on the posters!

@Graingy they both have the same thickness what your seeing is ether the space between the suit and the body or the body itself. But the paint is kinda deceiving tho

@Robomo119E The legs look very heavily armoured while the torso looks much thinner.
