The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a carrier-based, supersonic, all-weather, twin-engine multirole jet. Designed by McDonnell Douglas (currently produced by Boeing). The F/A/-18 Hornet is a derivative of the 1970s YF-17 used by the US Navy and US Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the Air Forces of several nations and, since 1986, by the US Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.
