SS Konigreich is a Soveregnian ocean liner built for the East-West Company (Ost-West Gesellschaft or OWG), launched in 1802.

He was officially named Konigreich by King Friedrich III in 1800. Konigreich had in turn been named after The Sovereign Kingdom, a state which existed from 350 to 1905.

He was designed by a team of Soverengian architects led by Prince Bismarck of Zwillingsberge (Later King), and was constructed in Neu Berlin. At the time of his construction, Konigriech was the longest at 986.9ft (300.8 m including the figurehead), and largest, with a gross tonnage of 58,978 GT, passenger ever built. He held these records until the construction of Nordliche Schifffahrstlinien's SS Kronprinzezin Johanna in 1928.

In the early years of Konigreich's service, he was repeatedly corrected by Bismarck and his team due to problems in handling and stability. Nonetheless he manage to make full time profit on his intended routes. His profits were repeatedly interrupted due to the outbreaks of armed conflicts in Great Country such as the War of Coalitions, Sovereign Civil War, Pivdenia Revolution and to name a few.

Konigriech's arrival became the main basis for OWG's future ocean liners named as "The Great Twelve" which to be followed by twelve more ships. During his career, he was repeatedly refitted and modernized notably in his machinery and communications. Nonetheless he retained most of his original features which he carried until today.

Konigreich has the most longest career of any ocean liners with 319 years in. He is regarded as one of the most oldest ships in the world and the only "Great Twelve" still in service.

Background

The East-West Line was one of the two Sovereignian shipping companies which operated trans-country crossings, the other being the Nordliche Schifffahrstlinien. The latter had much success with the advent of their so-called "Five Flyers", the first of which was the Schnell. Nordliche soon had a fleet of five ocean liners with weekly trans-country crossings on offer. By the turn of the century, OWG had only one flagship, the Equestria. Though successful, the Equestria could not rival the "Five Flyers" owned by Nordliche. OWG soon added the Brandenburg to their fleet which was the largest ship at its launch. The competition in the west is also fierce, Earl & Henry's Celtic followed by her sister Briton were an instant success by 1790.
