Shortly after the first model of Project 8117 was released, Phoenix Industries went to produce a successor which would remedy Model 01's only real weakness: It's speed.
The engineers worked tirelessly to figure out a way to make the plane faster, and their solution... just sweep the wings.
The payload was slightly adjusted, and the laser cannons were brought closer to the fuselage. The engines were also upgraded, too.
