Heavy Tank T51 (Salacia)
The 155 mm Heavy Tank / Howitzer T51 was a concept for a heavy tank armed with a large-calibre infantry howitzer. Only a prototype was built and due to poor handling characteristics it was rejcted.
Drawing interest from the French Char de batalle (tank) 2C and B1 types, this Fontainian behemoth's primary duty is to destroy fortifications and overpressure light tanks.
Development
In the late 1920s Fontainian based firms Melus, Salacia and Meropide was tasked to design a heavy tank with an infantry gun as the main calibre arm and the chassis had to be powered by an inline Liberty engine of 450 horsepower. Design characteristics is of firm's desire.
