@McChezborger ah yes, I encountered that with my P-40 that I posted a while back. You can check it out if this explanation isn't enough.
Attatch the back (bottom by default) of the piston to your plane, the top to another fuselage (get another fuselage piece and make it like 0.3 width and height) and attach the other end of that fuselage to the glass.
For some reason, pistons don't like to connect to glass or some fuselages especially when it is noclipped into the fuselage of the aircraft.
