X-RAID Mini Countryman

17.5k Dynimerous  7.7 years ago

X-RAID is a German rally-raid racing team. This is a replica of the chassis of their heavily modified Mini Countryman.
The actual thing is a complete beast.

For some reason, the suspension on this refuses to work. I don't know why. If anyone could help troubleshoot, that would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy!

@Dynimerous I looked at it again. It is actually the fuselage piece attached to the wheels is too small. Make it a little longer to spread the control arms apart.

@Rugpeersdude even though the hinges are all in line with each other?

@Dynimerous straighten out the fuselage piece that is being angled inward where the 2 control arms attach to. That should stop the wheel from folding inwards.

@Rugpeersdude Hm, so how would I design them differently to avoid that?

the suspension works fine. Was just set too strong. But because of the design of the control arms, the wheels tend to fold in on themselves while turning over 50 mph.
