The TF-17A is the final product of the X-88 prototype. Although the Diamondback lost against another aircraft in ATLAS' lightweight fighter program, it, unlike it's competitor, featured stealth technologies. It was decided that the Diamondback would become ATLAS' first stealth fighter rather than a new lightweight fighter. The TF-17A features an internal weapon bay unlike the prototype.
