Learjet E-36B Snowbird, Delta Federation Royal Navy
The E-36B is a small airborne command post and communications relay, painted Anti-Flash White, based on the Learjet 36. The original E-36A, manufactured in 1989, was made to replace some of the obsolete EC-130Q. This aircraft was made to give instructions to Ballistic Missile Submarines on to where to target, and was made up to TACAMO (Take Charge And Move Out) standards. The E-36 Models were also made to be a support aircraft for overwhelmed E-6B Mercurys. It’s first mission, E-36A, was made in 1994 during Operation Red Alert, which is and an ongoing operation that make’s aircraft and it’s crew fly for up to 2-5, depending on aircraft, days a week, with refueling probes of course, and switching out with other aircraft.
E-36 Models we also used to study EMPs from Nuclear Weapons. As of 2023, only 2 were lost.
