Venture Aeronautics Project G100 "VSRA-1"
Overview: the G100 is the primary experimental aircraft for the Variable Stability Research Program, which is where the aircraft gets its name "VSRA-1", or "Variable Stability Research Aircraft-1". It features 9 control surfaces, a unique forward-swept wing design, a spin recovery parachute, and a computer input system that changes and regulates the aircraft's stability. Its Center Of Lift
and Center Of Mass
are lined up at nearly the same position horizontally, which should make the aircraft "unflyable", but the wing design allows the aircraft to fly under these conditions.
FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS
Maximum Airspeed (TAS): 1500mph, 2414kph, 1304knots.
Maximum Altitude: 70,000ft, 21,336m.
Takeoff Airspeed (IAS)(25% Power): ~160mph, ~258kph, ~139knots.
Landing Airspeed (IAS): ~140mph,~225kph, ~122knots.
Controls: Trim: Variable Stability. Activate2: Spin Recovery Parachute.
NOTES
To perform a mid-air "flip", quickly pitch up and move the Trim slider up at the same time. Moving the Trim slider up decreases stability, while moving it down increases stability.
