Saturn V Rocket 2.0 (Landing Challenge)
Replica of the Saturn V rocket used for NASA's Apollo program (1966-1973). This a fully functional rocket with three stages and flight control. I have eliminated the death spin and other bugs from the previous model. This version has also been upgraded with landing thrusters. -Liftoff:
1. Increase throttle to 100%
2. Rocket should liftoff almost immediately
-Stage 1:
1. Retract landing gear
2. Wait until max velocity is reached (710-720 mph)
3. Detach 1
-Stage 2:
1. Reach max altitude (80,000 ft)
2. Detach 2
-Stage 3:
1. Throttle to 0%
2. Detach 3 to release landing module
-Landing:
1. Level aircraft by using roll and pitch controls via RCN (Hint: use black inlet on capsule to use as a reference to guide the nozzles.)
2. Slowly apply throttle to decrease decent speed (do not manipulate VTOL direction, unless you wanna see some crazy shit)
3. Continue to level aircraft and increase throttle until hovering between -10mph and 20mph.
4. Attempt to land capsule on terrain without it exploding (although you'll probably land on water 9/10 times).
*Disclaimer*
Landing the capsule is not impossible. Though it is not easy, if you enjoy challenging yourself, this is for you.
Be sure to post pictures to the reddit thread to show off your landing!
