One of the more unusual aircraft handed over from the inventory of the US Army Air Force to the newly-formed USAF in October 1947 was this OA-10 of the Air Rescue Service. Built during the war by Canadian Vickers, it was one of a batch of 230 which served from early 1944 on several fronts and remained in the active inventory until at least 1954.
