WARNING: HARD TO FLY! While out on a routine patrol, enemy planes launched a surprise attack. They shot through the glass, and with one lucky shot, and hit the pilot. The co-pilot was busy in another room at the time, and made it to the cockpit in time to keep it from blowing up on impact. That was the best anyone could have hoped for in that situation. After exiting the plane, they surveyed the damage and found it to be minimal, besides a killed pilot, missing disk, and a crumpled nose. The fuselage, they found, was covered in slick mud, making it easier to take off. Knowing no help was coming, as they would be presumed dead after the main ship stopped receiving feed from the disk, which was lost in the sky. They bound up the wings for durability, plugged the hole in the windshield, and covered the bullet holes with bamboo.The group then took off. They were lucky to make it back to base alive.
