The L-59 was a real airship. Its original mission was to resupply German troops in Africa. It would fly 2000 miles from Bulgaria to Southern Africa. In Africa it would be dismantled and used for supplies. It was told to abort that mission and it never made it to It's destination. In 1918 it was equipped with bombs and sent to bomb a British outpost. On its way there it blew up and fell into the water. It was accounted as an accident.
