Hughes H-4 Hercules (Spruce Goose)
This is the final variation of my H-4 Hercules. It's absolutely MASSIVE! (I had to zoom all the way out to take the photos)
IMPORTANT!! READ THROTTlE OPERATION!!
Added:
-Proper flight characteristics
-Proper flaps
-Proper speed
-Improved fuselage shape
-Improved level buoyancy
-Improved windows
-Scaled
THROTTLE OPERATION:
Activation Groups 1-8 specify which engines receive a throttle input. Activation Group 1 being the furthest engine to the left facing straight. You will have to keep in mind Activation Group 8 upon startup, for as it automatically switches on.
Note: Mix Trim and Flaps (VTOL) for best flight.
This is the all- -time famous, largest wingspan in the world, only 1 mile flown, Howard Hughes H-4 Hercules, or better known as the Spruce Goose. This late 1940 plane is actually built all from wood, giving the name Spruce Goose. It's intended use was for long-range cargo transportation, but that never happened. When it was completed, Howard Hughes, the designer, taxied it into the open, and without announcing, took off, and flew just feet over the water for 1 mile, to prove it flew.

Normal people see this as a H-4 Hercules, WarThunder players see this as a flying aircraft carrier
I would never have thought you would check out this aircraft! @Hyperwing
I just can’t stop it from doing a Front flip. Imagine if this was a problem in real life! you’d need to make sure you inverted the flaps or else, DISASTER! @xXFrankyJoeXx
This plane is in the Evergreen Aviation & Space museum In McMinnville, Oregon, in the United States. @DandruffCat
Once daddy was in a museum and he saw this airplane! It has a bigger wingspan bigger then the A380!!!@DandruffCat
I invert the flaps for water takeoff so that it doesn’t do a front flip
I modified your design so that it will fly with barely any corrections needed once it is in the air.
THICC! BOI
OH YEAH
I'm on the lookout for legible copies of the H-4 master stations diagrams, if anybody knows anybody in boeings archives office.
And also, @DandruffCat, a simple request... maybe you can do project habakkuk?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Habakkuk
Omg so nice... and the thing I asked you... post it as successor maybe... because i am busy till 1300 utc+7...
This plane is just beautiful! So gracefully flying through the air...
@saturn28 Lol, I knew that there was something off
@saturn28 could have been the Martin Mars as well, there are two of those flying today
@saturn28 You may be thinking of the Boeing 314 Clipper, I don't recall anyone making a replica of one you sit in.
@saturn28 Must've Ben something else. This only flew once in 1945 and has been decommissioned ever since.
The Wooden Boss
Ya, I highly recommend it!@DandruffCat
@IAmMyBoss Nice, I'm in Kentucky so it's a ways away. Maybe in the future!
Ya, I live in Oregon but me and my buddies went there and saw it. I'm a ww2 history buff, so I enjoyed the museum a lot @DandruffCat
@IAmMyBoss Thats cool! do you live near Washington?
I've seen this in person and been on the inside, it's is one lovely beast
Nice
@SHCow then get on!
