LEAP 6: Megalift. Some cargo is too big, even for the C-5. Antonov designed the 124 to dwarf anything in the west, it can carry battle tanks, trains, and even other aircraft to the furthest corners of the globe. the Antonov 124 is the largest cargo plane in the sky. and the pentacle of aviation engineering. The 124 owes its existence to nearly one hundred years in aeronautical innovation. I've lined up 6 extraordinary airplanes each pivotal to the evolution of aircraft design. At the heart of each plane, lies a technological breakthrough that allows cargo aircraft to grow in size. Six ingenious leaps forward that allowed cargo aircraft to grow from big, to bigger, to the worlds biggest. Like the C-5, the Antonov can airdrop cargo. but owners of those cargo won't be very happy if the Antonov drops it from 1000 meters up. To carry the Russian Buran space shuttle, Antonov will have to modify the Antonov 124 and make it even bigger. the only way it can carry the Buran, is on its back. but even the largest cargo plane in the world isn't big enough to carry a space shuttle on its back. so Soviet authorities ask Antonov to build a one-off, specially extended version of the 124. Antonov extends the fuselage by 7 meters. they also bolt 2 new sections onto the base of the wings.this makes space for 2 more engines. finally, designers add 8 more wheels (4 pairs) to carry the extra weight. the biggest cargo plane the world has seen is now even bigger. But at the moment, Antonov's one-off super-plane is grounded for a major refit. So for the time being, the Antonov 124 truly is the king of cargo planes. Until someone builds, an even bigger one.

@BaylorM The AN-225 is grounded for a refit, at least at the time the documentary was made, so I had the 225 as unlisted.

When plane is huge sized like yours, the upload photo is hard to take.. I found that you can adjust zoom to the back (- buton) in edition tool without moving the orientation (touch nothing but-zoom) , like this the point of view can be out of the camera limitation and you see the entire plane in one picture. Then just select share and take the first picture (still don't touch or move the view).. Like this the first picture can be fancy even for huge planes..
