I.J.N Takao Remastered
Well it’s here! After almost a week of frustratingly fun work I have finished the Remastered version! The IJN Kaga now has an escort! This literally put a nail in my coffin due to the EXTREME DIFFICULTY OF PUTTING PIECES IN. It took more man hours than the original Takao attempt 2 times over, Roughly about 10 hours of work excluding the time I spent on the Original. So here’s the Slightly revised controls
1 and VTOL= Main Batteries
2 and VTOL= Secondary Batteries and new spotlights
3 and VTOL down= Left Catapult
4 and VTOL down= Right Catapult
Use 6 and roll to turn faster and stop the ship on open waters, when speed is less than 5 mph cut the throttle.
So here’s the list of things I have changed or added.
Changed a majority of the Superstructure.
Added spotlights and spinning radar modules
Revised the AA guns by adding plating on the smaller and putting walls around them.
Cockpit now rotates with the main turrets.
Minor hull changes.
Changed the arrangement of the lines and a ish attempt at the Rising Sun flag.
Added 7 different cameras to further explore the ship a bit better.
So with all the effort I put into it why not a bit more! So here's a little fun info paragraph for all those who survived this far. The IJN Takao was the lead ship in a class of 4 Heavy Cruisers. She had a better armament than both the classes of cruisers than preceded and succeeded them, The Myoko and Mogami class respectively. The Takao class was widely considered the best Cruisers the IJN ever built. Of the 4 in the class only the Takao survived the war, being scrapped in 1946 and the other 3 were all sunk due to the battle of Leyte Gulf. The class was noted to be slightly top heavy well replicated in my model, also the number 3 turret had a slightly bad firing arc. Well that’s about it Happy Sailing and remember... You don’t need a Parachute to skydive, You only need a Parachute to Skydive twice.

@metallicplanes Some fun tidbits I used to add to the end of my posts
What does the last line mean?
Plz! Make a detached cockpit version!
@DragonAerotech yeah sure you can use all the radars and such.
@DeezDucks Mind if I use your' radar dish from the Takao on my "corvette?"
@DragonAerotech Yup and thats how I made the moving wings and weapons bay on my Shinden and F-35.
@DeezDucks Ah, that's the secret!! Interesting.. I'm VERY new to this nudge business but have been using it like crazy ever since I learned how to actually do it. Good to know this about nudging at the finishing stage. Is this how people can get large turrets to rotate with virtually no space between the turret and the deck plating base?
@DragonAerotech you can actually nudge the rotators so they aren't attached but they still work. Do this after everything is done else the next time you mirror it the mirrored side won't work.
@DeezDucks BEAUTIFUL work on Takao and some real interesting features that one ordinarily wouldn't expect! The catapults are a nice touch just a shame the birds and catapults aren't functional! lol I'm teasing the idea of using one of my freed up AGs to add a functioning catapult with one of my observation floatplanes on it but I'm torn. lol I didn't realize you could nudge the rotators that deep into the hull and have them still work. I'm going to try to bury mine again and see if they'll work this time. If it worked for this beauty my beast should be able to work with it too. lol
@WalrusAircraft Thank you I think you two will like my collab project with Mediocre even more!
Just to say it again. We (Jr. and Sr.) both really liked your work on this boat.
@NumNumz Thanks :)
@DeezDucks This boat is the reason I subcribed to you :p
@NumNumz TY xD
This is a masterpiece
@Colbs7200 K go ahead I look forward to the result!
@DeezDucks
Gotcha, i'll probably make the turrets sub-assemblies so I can outfit them without the ship in the way. And don't worry, I'm not going t try to take credit for any of your work. I know how I'd feel.
@Colbs7200 only thing I recommend you don't do is mirror the entire ship cause those cables will double and lagg over.
@DeezDucks
lol. I'll try my best not to tear into the man guns too much, This is such a nice design! (plus i'm a little afraid of what horrible clipping might happen if I mess with too much)
@Colbs7200 hehe sure full steam ahead hahaha
@DeezDucks
I've been working on some interesting projectile related projects (And if I could use XML everything would be so much easier) I would say that the Takao's Main battery is due for a refit. ;)
@WalrusAircraft Thanks :)
I've been super busy and missed this. Nice job! Looks like Jr. Upvotes you some time ago so that is good.
This got first place in my contest! 60 points for you
@DaKaleYT yes xD
