P-77 Seawolf

The P-77 Seawolf is the second of three 1930's era planes I have been working on, and personally my favorate. The P-77 is my devlopment of the Bell XP-77, a resource light fighter made moslty out of wood. My P-77 follows the same design style. A wood and metal frame keeps the plane very light, which allows a much larger weapons load. This larger weapons load is taked advantage by four .50caliber amchine guns. For a light 30's fighter, this is very impressive. The engine is a 850HP air cooled inverted V12, put at the end of a long nose to help balance. At the other balancing end sits the cockpit, which is fully furnished with gauges and engien control levers. the bubble canopy proviedes excellent view behind the plane as well as over the shoulders of the plane for carrier landings.
