History: In early 1944, the Luftwaffe needed a small, nimble, and cheap trainer to help new pilots learn to fly the FW-190. Focke-Wulf produced a design called the FW-216A (the "B" variant was used a nighttime reconnaissance aircraft). The pilots who trained on it nicknamed it the "Vunder-Vogel (Wonder-Bird)" because of how easy it was to fly. It was equipped with two MK108 cannons and one drop tank to extend the flight time. This aircraft would have been used as the aircraft that the pilots performed their solo flight on. Some training schools who used this plane made the pilots fly halfway across France and back to the airfield to train them for tracking down the American bombers.
