The F-15 concept started 1964, then Mcdonnel Dougless was granted the contract in 1969. At the time, the americans had no idea what the russian competator would be like, so they assumed the worst. Speed was the number 1 priority, then agility. When the MiG-25 was tested the americans relized just how great the F-15 was. It has a thrust weight ratio of 1.3! The F-15 first saw combat with the iseali air force, using it for both ground targets and dogfights. When operation desert storm came about, the F-15C was used for Air Superiority, and the F-15E was used for ground attack. The F-15 is still in service today, droping munitions on ISIS. She now rocks an LATRIN long navigation pod and an infared targeting pod. Groups 1-2 are AIM-9 sidewinder missiles, Groups 3 is Mk 82 JDAM GPS guided bombs, and 4-6 are Mk 84 JDAM GPS guided bombs.
