Yes that's so we can't use it for planes if you look at destoryers they have this as armor cause that ain't in the air the don't fall apart @SimpleThings

The armor gets destroyed if the bomb hits it at an angle.
Those blocks don't explode anyway they have been used as armor for the ships before
