The Charrer was a Nova Evropan zeppelin built in larger numbers than the Scorcher, totaling a dozen. This smaller aerostat was built to be a "flying battleship" carrying large amounts of defensive guns and an autocannon to attack ground targets with greater precision than bombs allow. The intent was simple: Charrers would clean up AAA, thus allowing Scorchers to bomb with impunity. However, the loss of the Scorcher fleet forced these ships to serve as transport airships. Interestingly enough, only two were destroyed by enemy fire and most were burned down by retreating Nova Evropan forces. While 5 were found destroyed and 3 were captured as airworthy zeppelins, two were still unaccounted for.

The Charrer's social composition is peculiar: the aircrew itself is made out of Citizens while the gunners consist of Dwellers. This distinction was also originally applied to Scorchers.
