In 1944, this Ki-84 Hayate, or "Frank" rolled off the Nakajima assembly line with s/n 1446. After world war 2 it was surprisingly sold as surplus to Ed Maloney and was set on display at the Ontario Air Museum (now Planes Of Fame in Chino, CA). It was registered N3385G and kept airworthy. The "Frank" was sent to Japan at the Arashiyama Museum in Kyoto, Japan in 1973, the museum closed in 1991 and was ultimately sent to the Tokko Heiwa Kinen-kan Museum, Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan where it remains on display today. This is the only KI-84 still surviving. https://www.airliners.net/photo/Japan-Air-Force/Nakajima-Ki-84-Hayate/2383828
