Forrest Parham served initially as an Army Tank Corps Second Lieutenant before requesting flight training and joining the Army Air Forces. During World War II he became an ACE, credited with shooting down 5 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. After the war he transferred to the new U.S. Air Force, flying combat missions in the Korean War and retiring in 1964 as a Colonel.
