GS-8 Diverger
OVERVIEW
The GS-8 Diverger is a 1982 MBT that served in the Maywar War. It can move easily in the desert and reaches high speeds for the type of machine it is.
HISTORY
The project began in 1982, when Golden Tree decided to officially take part in the Maywar war. They had to send an MBT, so they came up with the MBT-8. The official production name was “GS-8” and was nicknamed “Diverger”. The tank arrived for the first time in Maywar island on the 15th of November, in 6 units for a test. It was then widely used and more than 100 were sent in Maywar.
COMBAT CAPABILTIES
The lack of a stabilizer is explained by the need of space inside the turret. The stabilizer made the tank too heavy making it stop into the sand. Though, it can easily fight most MBT, even more modern ones (it is still used nowadays). The defensive part is where it shines: the ERAs, Flares and smoke make it hard to destroy. It also has heavy armory that defend it pretty well.
COMBAT STYLE AND ARMAMENT
The tankers uses guerrilla tactics or ambushes to fight in this tank. It is the best way because of the high mobility and low profile of it, making the tank hard to find.
It receives a 100mm long barrel and an HMG.
Please note: the tank in the photo is Cmd. Mark Funnel’s tank, in the 44th Armored Division livery.
