Supermarine Type 601
The Supermarine Type 601 was an experimental twin-seater interceptor based on the Spitfire Mk. XIV that was, most of the times, very successful in it's mission of locating, intercepting and shooting down Heinkel He-111 and Junkers Ju-288 bombers.
Crew
It required a team of 5 to operate:
A pilot
A navigator
A mechanic (Ground Crew)
A flight operations manager (Ground Crew)
A take-off coordinator (Ground Crew)
Backstory
Created in 1941, this was the world's first purposely and inherently unstable aircraft and one of the best bomber interceptors of World War II. The Type 601 was a rushed plane, being just a twin-seater Griffon-powered Spitfire with 2 Hispano Mk. V and 1 45mm Cannon mounted on the nose.
Due to it's design being literally a longer Spitfire, it provided ex-Spitfire pilots with a lot of familiarity.
Incidents
There were two main incidents:
June, 1943 - Southern London
Type 601 "Tunnel Rat". The pilot, Lieutenat James L. Brooks, and his navigator, Sargent Ellie M. Farrow, were intercepting a blitz formation of 3 He-111 with 5 other Type 601 aircraft. All He-111 bombers were shot down. The engine cowling of one of the downed He-111 bombers crashed onto the plane's canopy, effectively killing both crewmen.
March 1944, East Germany
A radar-fitted night fighter variant of the Type 601, the Type 601N1 "Night Owl", was intercepted by two Messerchmitt Me-262A1/U4 jets at around 3:47 A.M. Greenwich time. The airframe was pierced with 7 50mm shells from the Pulkzerstörer cannons. Both the pilot, Hector Shaw, and his navigator, Cole Rainer, were forced to eject, and were captured by SS Forces.
Controls
VTOL Down operates the flaps
Operate the plane as usual, but remember to correct for the plane's inherent instability.

@logizAircrafts yes! cool guns!
@MAHADI Great! Kind of what I was expecting, especially the "Weaponry" section. A 45mm fridge launcher should probably take me to 4 stars, I thought!
