MAE Panther Class Destroyer - Leopard Type
The Panther Class Destroyer in the Leopard Multi-Role Type layout was MAE's response to JAC's Serpent and Cobra Class vessels. While lacking the speed of the much lighter JAC destroyers, the Panther Class compensated in sheer, overwhelming firepower. Twice the size of her competitor, but carrying much more than twice the firepower, a single, triple gun turret on the Panther Class could bring to bear more destructive force than all the turrets on a Serpent or Cobra. Furthermore, the Panthers carried a hull packed with torpedos, anti-aircraft missiles and space for 24 vertically launched munitions, up to and including deadly, long ranged cruise missiles. This hefty loadout gave the Panther Class the capability to engage targets at hideously long distances, or, when closer, unload devastating salvos from her super-firing turrets. (Group 1: missile control with VTOL and trim. Group 2: open/close missile hatch - warning lights will activate to ensure hatch controls are deactivated prior to firing payload. Group 3, Camera 1: super-firing fore turret control with VTOL and trim. Group 4, Camera 2: aft turret controls with VTOL and trim. Group 7: running lights. Group 8: Gyro stability assist.)
