The RP-1 was a prototype rocket glider built to test a rocket engine in flight. In 1933, the BICh-11 was selected by MosGIRD, the Moscow-based experimental rocket engine group, as a suitable test-bed with which to fly the GIRD OR-2 liquid-propelled rocket engine. In March 1933, the RP-1 was given a wing of greater span, and fitted with sprung landing gears and a tailskid. It is not recorded whether this aircraft flew satisfactorily. I had to use a VTOL engine and two VTOL thrusters to simulate the rocket engine. Note: It will have a downward pitching motion, so hold the stick back to fly level.
