Armor Concept

162k spefyjerbf  7.9 years ago

"Our resistances build - we begin to care less about evasion."

While doing some experimenting I noticed that parachutes (when not deployed) are immune to bullets. This was my testbed for some parachute-based armor plates.

They can absorb one burst of minigun bullets before the bullets pass through the armor plates...

A plane with this armor is already in development.

@Armyguy1534 Yep! 1.7, if I remember right, changed the way that damage is applied. Now we can XML any part to be (nearly) bulletproof!

It must have been changed by the update since it does not work anymore

@KingOfZeta If you have an android device or a pc, download WNP8's overload mod. Then XML will be easy!

@spefyjerbf I got one problem! I don't know how to make XML Mods and to apply them cuz I'm a newbie. I only get some XML parts from scavenging planes xD

@KingOfZeta Armor is pretty easy to make now, because part health can be XML modded.

@spefyjerbf Ohh... I guess we must do more experiments so we can make Armors!

@KingOfZeta As of 1.7, this armor no longer works.

@zackattack316 Thanks! Also I have posted an aircraft that uses the armor plates. It gives it a rugged, puffy appearance.

@Dllama4 Also if you want to see an example of the armor on a plane, I have just posted this.

@DatGuy117 Thanks! I have also put this concept into motion by making an armored plane.

@CALVIN232 @marcox43 @CRAZYONE1423 I have posted a plane with this armor. You can find it here. Thanks!

@CALVIN232 The armor works quite well. It can protect an aircraft (if used correctly) in battles against truck convoys, and it works quite well against the guns on the USS beast escorts.
