The Caribou is a STOL legend. Its use by the U.S. Army in Vietnam illustrated its short landing and load bearing capabilities. Many examples are still used by civilians roday. The design evolved into the turboprop DHC-5 Buffalo, and some DHC-4s were converted to turboprop power.
