The Mobile Gatling Gun was a separate idea taken from the Self-propelled Gun (SPG), in light of reigniting the use of the Gatling gun against infantry and air targets. The T90 was an idea for an SPG in 1939, but was never manufactured. The design of an MGG variant was created alongside it. Two prototypes were built and assigned crews after testing. The special magazines used for the MGG gave it the name “The Golden Bomber”. Both prototypes were preserved; one in Berlin at Tempelhof Airport and the other on the deck of the USS Intrepid.
