HU-16 v4.0

172 Rescue  7.5 years ago

This model is of the Grumman HU-16 flying boat AKA The "Albatross".
The HU-16 Was designed for the US military in the late 1940s as a primary fixed wing rescue aircraft. It was intended to replace the aging fleet of Catalinas that were heavily used in the pacific during WW2.

This is my 4th and final attempt at perfecting this design.
I finaly got the weight and balance right.
You can now land and takeoff on water!
As always the gear is complicated, but it mimics the real thing and it is substantial enough to support a landing on a runway.
Groups 1-3 and G for the gear. Group 5 is flaps.

Gear instructions:
a. Full up on VTOL with 1 and 2 active.
(This extends the gear fully for takeoff.)
b. Deactivate 1 and 2. (You should not need them any more.)
c. On take off with the slider fully up activate 3 and press "G" (gear will retract).
d. For landing on land center the slider and activate 3 and press "G" gear will come down and lock in place.
Enjoy!
