As the competition between 4th gen aircraft globally was reaching it’s peak the Air Force and Ott agreed on a contract that would build a modern multirole for it’s time while still keeping the FA-12s in active service. Ott built the FA-20 as a standard multirole that had less potential than the F-19 & A-22 but was still reliable in combat. Remains in limited service.
