The Swedish Sabre. The Flying Barrel. Regardless what you call it, the Saab J-29 was quite some kite. More or less the equal of the F-86 and the MiG-15, but with added neutrality.

@Tang0five Cheers! Ive read that the Flygvapnet pilots liked to rat race against F-86 pilots, as the J-29 had a little bit of a performance advantageon some areas. Against the MiG-15? I havent read much, but the Faggot was conceived as a bomber interceptor, the Tunnan as a fighter-interceptor first, and a fighter-bomber second. Any comparitive on line talk on the three very very quickly descends into a mig vs sabre slagging match.
Im tempted to think that the tree are all more or less equal.
Magic as ever old boy! Those crazy swedes certainly knew how to cobble a kite together - would be interesting to see how this compared against the mig and sabre.
I always liked the Barrel, kind of an F-86 alternative from those ingenious Swedes.
