In 2006, the famous Peterbilt Model 389 proudly took its role as the torch bearer for Peterbilt’s iconic legacy of power, capability, luxury and style. Known as one of the most powerful tractors on the road, Model 389 amassed a community of devoted fans and admirers like no other truck before it. More than 100,000 Model 389 trucks were manufactured during its 18-year production run. Today, the truck still maintains its influential presence in the trucking world and beyond.

The 389 is the next in the line after the very sucessful 359 from the 60s-80s, and the 379 from the 80s to early 2000s. Styling is a classic example of if it aint broke dont fix it, and why would you with an amazing yet simple looking truck that has become synonymous with the peterbilt brand.

a secondary livery

I decided to do a secondary livery for the 389 and decided to do a localish company that i see driving around alot in my home town, george and sons. Its a company out of maryland, and their livery is so recognizable around here, and whenever you see it you know ya gotta get out of the way because they normally go 10-15 over the speed limit. This version doesnt have the horns but does have a strip of marker lights in front of the air cleaner box.

Dry bulk trailer is fully accurate and modeled with flipable valves on each hopper and on the front. Button for the forks is on the passenger side.

Comes with openable rear doors, and a hand crank animation for the forks. On the loaded variant it comes with fully modeled pallets with product in an accurate configuration. Buttons for rear door on bottom latch, and the button for the forks is on the passenger side of the housing. Each pallet is 37 parts and is connected in a their diagonal row of 4, with 36 total pallets, and they have realistic weight.

builders note: this is quite an old build that im just now getting around to releasing. I have a freightliner to come as well that i made for the race hauler that i repurposed into a schnider truck. Might be released some time soon. For this build i wanted to make it so i can have a base truck and the ablity to spawn trailer in game that i would want. The system works well enough but it definataly can be better. So far i have a refrigerator trailer in a loaded and unloaded configuration, and a dry bulk tanker but i plan on making a flat bed and full trailer at some point. In the works is also a lowboy trailer that im trying to make actually flex under weight but its way to loose as is so i might end up scraping that idea. The interior is very very bare bones. I made this before i got my new and more powerful phone as well as i wasnt confident in my interior making ablities so i left it bare. I might make a version with an interior but im also debating just completely redoing it at some point. I hope you enjoy driving and playing around with the trailers!
