History: After the initial success of the Ilyushin IL-28 Beagle, Ilyushin decided to improve upon their original design. The way that they "improved" is by adding two more engines, one per wing. They also added an extra crew member (weapons officer, sat below the cockpit) and removed the bomb bay. The top speed of the IL-29 Beagle II was almost 900 miles per hour, allowing it to outrun almost, if not all, aircraft that would try to intercept it. It entered service in 1962 and served until it was pulled from active duty in 1979.
