This is a half-fiction aircraft based on the real-life Y-10 project in the ICM lore set.

NEVER GIVE UP
October 1959. Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev visits China under Chinese invitation for attending its 10th year anniversary. His giant Tupolev 116 aircraft inspired Chinese leaders for its huge size and being a symbol of a strong nation.
December 1962. After successful test flights of the H-6 bomber (which is a licensed built Tupolev 16), Chinese premier Zhou Enlai made proposals modifying H-6 into an airliner as the Soviets success on Tu-104 while the minister for foreign affairs, Marshal Chen Yi believed that "as the representative of a quarter of the mankind, he could not prove China deserves the respect from other fellow nations if he was unable to show the world what progress that China have made".
July 1965. Mao visits Shanghai, suggesting Shanghai as the nation's most industrialized city could have possibilities developing an aircraft industry, and said suggest later became a directive from the ministry of aviation industry. The early Y-10 program starts as a Chinese solution for Tu-104 - to make an airliner based on a bomber aircraft.
August 1965. PLAAF and Goverment Industry planners approved the complete report to begin a transporter aircraft project in Shanghai, and the project itself renamed as Gongcheng 708 (Project 708) while the name of the aircraft officially given as Y-10.
Ministry of Aviation Industries confirmed principles of designs for the Y-10 project as civil airliner for international flights and will be able to convert into military support aircraft and government aircrafts in 1967. Later the project changed from building an airliner based on H-6 bomber to designing a brand new jet jumbo with supports from Boeing. The designers from China and the Boeing company worked together in Shanghai since 1968, with experiences from 707 the engineers soon completed the designing process. In 1975 the first batch of three prototype Y-10s rolled off from Dachang Airfield factory of Insititute 640 (Shanghai Large Aircraft Design Institute, which later become AVIC Shanghai AIG). The test flights completed in 1978, and the first batch of mass produced Y-10-100 started its services in 1980. Boeing and 262 different Chinese units from 21 provinces, cities, ARs and the PLA contributed in the Y-10 program. Design and Production of Y-10 aircraft made Chinese aviation plants inproved their abilities greatly, which contributes alot for further expands in the 1980s and 1990s in both civil and military fields. The Y-10 series is the main pillar of Chinese civil aviation in late 20th century, all Y-10 aircrafts in civil service are decommissioned as of 2010.
