McDonnell Douglas DC-10F (Reworked)
This is BaconAircraft's majestic replica of the McDonnell Douglas DC-10F.
I have reworked and added lights and controls (you now no longer can extend the flaps upwards and you can't pull the cargo door inwards) plus I added a small cockpit interior, though I couldn't add any things like throttle levers, yokes and rudder pedals, as they were bugging around and attaching to other stuff in that small space. However I managed to fit a pilot and a co-pilot seat, pilot and co-pilot POV cameras, WNP's minimap and Gestour's GA cockpit panels, giving you a more immersive feeling and better situational awareness in cockpit view.
I tried to not increase the part count much to keep the aircraft as accessible to users as the base version. However the minimap can eat a lot of your framerate away, feel free to remove it when encountering any problems. Also I didn't add a livery, you're still free to make one on your own.
The controls:
AG1: activate position lights and strobe lights
AG2 + VTOL up: open cargo door
AG3 + Trim down: flaps down
AG4: activate taxi and landing lights
AG5 + brakes: reverse thrust
AG6 + VTOL up: minimap far range scale
AG6 + VTOL down: minimap close up range scale
AG7: basically nothing, but Bacon assigned it to some stuff that does nothing
AG8: deactivate the wing mounted engines and the beacon lights, leaving only the top mounted engine to simulate engine failures
Trim: elevator trim
Throttle: engine throttle for all three main engines
Brakes: wheel brakes and spoilers
Pitch: pitch up/down
Roll: roll left/right
Yaw: rudder left/right + nosewheel steering
TAKEOFF: 100%, Trims, Flap 1 slot down.
LANDING: 20%, TRIM, Flap full.
EMERGENCY LANDING (DOUBLE ENGINE FAILURE): 100%(1 engine), Flap 1 slot down, use trim.

The cockpit window design can be tweaked some but still a great build!!
@BaconAircraft Yep.. the whole set was responsible for 26% of its weight.
Lol! @BaconEggs "weighs as much as an empty A320" G freaking G.
@BRuthless All I do is add weight scale to it. Just one of the landing gear set on this weighs as much as an empty A320. That allows it to handle the weight of the aircraft.

@BaconEggs Yeah, I know those. The problem is not making shocks that are strong enough, the problem is that the attachpoints get wonky with so much weight (even at much lower weight), or they might just break. Looking at the way the landing gear is built (with the hinges and pistons), it seems that BaconAircraft already tried doing it, so I didn't bother.
@BRuthless Well, with the extreme part restrictions (strength percentage, damper percentage, all that) it does seem difficult. When you have a Fine Tuner mod, and you are relent-less, you would eventually get there.
The landing gear bogie is something more simple than it looks, just larger gear. It has the suspension, but under that is a hinge. In using this, the airplane can tilt the nose Pitch while having all 4 or 6 wheels of one bogie still on the ground. It can't have just a hinge, some are equipped with what I like to call ligaments. It's basically something that can contract to the rotation, but when not conflicted with any force, it remains at a singular position. 'Course, many just have the ligaments inside the hinge to clear space, and some have a contraction arm that has a hinge in the middle of a ligament. It may sound conplicated, but when you take a closer look on paper, it's really quite simple.
@BaconEggs What do you mean by that? Better suspension? :D I think BaconAircrafts tried that already, but the weight is too much for SP physics.
I still don't see any dank landing gear bogies..
@BRuthless Yep I always use 7+BRAKE for those :3
@BaconAircraft I noticed that it rotated the thrustport used for reverse thrust, disabled that. Also the pistons in the landing gear activate with AG7, but they don't do anything.
I would've liked to offer more improvements, but this is already packed full with stuff and looks awesome and accurate.
Love the overhaul, extra bits and correction you've added to this.
AG-7 +Brake was a placeholder for some cosmetic rotators that do not have a function. :)
