Wright Wiring Thunder (50s/Cold War Challenge!)
History;
In the year of 1947, it was discovered that Snowstone had been reverse engineering long range strategic bombers which had been supplied to them during the Krakabloa lend lease programme. Snowstone was flying their bombers too close to the Wright Isles, spurring the frightened nation into developing an interceptor. By as early as 1950, Wright Wiring had come up with high speed interceptor, capable of catching any enemy bomber. The aircraft was first flown in 1954 and introduced to the Wright Isles air defense squadrons in 1959. The Wright Wiring Thunder quickly became an icon of the Jundroo island nations, successfully intercepting every bomber sent into the Wright Isles region. The success of the interceptor drew in large orders from western neighbors.
Specifications;
Length; 17.7metres
Wingspan; 12.2metres
Height; 7.1metres
Weight (Empty); 15,502kg
Weight (Full); 20,370kg
Options;
After a decade of service with the Wright Isles, it was decided that the aircraft have twin seat and ground attack variants. There was even a carrier variant proposed, but never developed. Later variants also addressed the critical fuel issue, as early on in the Thunder’s life, time to climb intercepts were it’s only purpose.
Big thanks to the creator of this challenge, mikoyanster himself, for providing XML engines to make this plane fair for the competition. I wish good luck to everyone else in the challenge… Enjoy!

@Alien
Oh whoops. I had a mix-up, I thought I was talking to the builder lol. Well you guys did build the Typhoon and Tornado, and parts of the F-35.
@JohnnyBoythePilot I liked your comment, I just wanted to make a joke about how we Brits did everything to kick big holes in our aerospace industry, and never built anything after the Lightning. BTW this one isn't mine, it's RAF1's. He loves Lightnings too.
@Alien
Yes I know I think E.E. built the lightning until the F.6, which BAC/BAE produced the F.6 Lightning. I was referring to your Wright Wiring Thunder which looks exactly like a Lightning.
Their rep handed the reins over to BAC which then became BAE who
forgot how to make aircraft themselves and are happy that at least someone remembers British aerospace heritage,😜 @JohnnyBoythePilot
Absolute Coolness. I've got a Lightning type in the works for the challenge too. Great minds and all that...
English Electric would like to have a word with you....
Okay, got it.
@BogdanX
@RAF1 It is an excellent construction! well done!
Yay! Couldn’t have made it without your engines!
@mikoyanster
Good to see someone else who doesn’t think it just ugly and useless... I have always loved the Lightning!
@LEOPARDtec
Very best realisation . Good job .

I love it!
@RAF1 This is beautiful. The lightning is my favourite fighter of all time!
Yay! Thanks for the upvote!
