KV-85
The KV-85 tank (Russian: ???? ?????????-85) was the third model of the KV series, the Soviet Union's main heavy tank of the Second World War.
In August 1943, production of the KV-85 with the new D-5T tank gun began. The tank followed the chassis of the KV-1S and was fitted with a new cast turret for the 85mm gun (the turret fitted to the later IS-1), which had 100mm of front armour and a larger volume, with a captain's command tower, for greater operational efficiency. the KV-85's weight was increased to about 43 tonnes, and its maximum speed was 43km/hr.
The KV-85 heavy tank was produced for only two months, with a production run of 143 units. The tank contributed to the accumulation of technology as a transitional product prior to the production of the IS series of tanks.
