Mogedi class Missile Boat

In the end, all learning is good and this rebuild certainly taught me a lot about shipbuilding. I think the most important takeaway from my experience with this ship is the importance of carefully constructing the keel and lower hull because that affects the whole design so much. But, I'm really pleased with this. It's a redesign of the Orion class but the lore tells an even nicer, smoother story.

While the Orion class was a suitable vessel for the coast guard the Navy saw it as little more than a glorified yacht and quickly dismissed the initial design for refit. Instead, navy personnel and several contractors sat down to quickly redesign the ship from the hull up. The final product would have gone several ways with both the navy and the designers jostling priorities. In the end, the multirole design was both the most cost effective and the most practical--it would allow the navy to field a suitable anti-air and anti-ship coastal force/screen force without doubling the number of designs available and increasing the logistical demand. The Mogedi class, a light anti-air, heavy anti-ship missile boat was selected as the final design and put into production shortly after.

Although registered as a missile boat these ships are very capable of operation in green-water regions. The endurance was a key factor in the design due to Winolia's long coastline and the need for extensive patrols. Its hull has a low-observable design to help it avoid radar detection and its powerful powertrain allows it to traverse the seas and oceans at a clip of 40 knots at full tilt or 25 knots under normal operation. It uses upgraded electronics from the coastguard ship, bought and built as required, and is also fitted with Kombat-3 which is a localised fleet combat management system. It is armed with 4 anti-ship missiles in paired launch tubes at each side of the vessel and a rotating anti-air battery containing 9 radar-guided air to air missile. Like the coastguard version, it has a light forward battery, consisting of a singular 30mm autocannon mounted in a fully traversable turret--it can shoot down aircraft and missiles alike, although it's primarily for defence against similarly sized ships. It is serviced by 36 crew including officers and has an endurance of 6 days thanks to its highly efficient engine and storage design. This ship is also designed to carry D-2 heli-drones but those have yet to start production.

AG1 = Activates front left and front right missile tubes
AG2 = Activates rear left and rear right missile tubes
AG3 = Activates missile launcher controls.

VTOL to control rotation (gun and missile launcher)
Trim to elevate.
Roll to turn [inverted, sorry]
Throttle to propel

And another learning project is done. Some XML modding was even used so I'd say I'm getting better. I really like building ships I've realised so I might start working on parts for a Corvette or a Frigate next. Not sure. I'll have to look into those. As always, thanks for your comments, like and upvotes. They mean a lot.
