Tupolev Tu-114 0.453 UNFINISHED
Just a preview, but it is completely flyiable already.
A Tu-114 was made by the same recipy as Tu-104 - take an existing wing from a Tu-95 bomber and mate it to a new pressurised passenger fuselage. Though this time they modified the tail with an adjustable stabiliser (which was one of two main problems of tu-104). The plane is still the fastest production turboprob in the world, 880 Kph, just like moder average jetliner. In early 60s - this was the biggest, most luxurious (it mostly flew abroad and USSR wanted to make it look like socialism is a world of luxury) and longest range (over 9500 km) airliners in the world before 747. It also had a modern flexible swept wings just like todays airliners. Later in service they even developed the new wing with supercritical airfoil (again, just like modern jetliners), though it was only produced and mounted on the later tu-95 bombers. Sadly, only 3 non-airworthy planes remain in museums. Although they are in good enough condition to restore (and many spares are still in production for tu-95, although they might have been modified a lot as tu-95 stayed in production untill 1988, while tu-114 up to 1965), i doubt that we'll ever see one in the air.
Controls
Warning! Turboprops are pitch controlled! Thrust controlls the propeller pitch with engine governor maintaining the engine RPM. This way it is on nk-12 turboprops from tu-95 and tu-114. Thus:
1) Below 20% thrust they essentially work as VERY powerful airbrakes. Never drop below 35% thrust inflight unless you need to drop speed fast.
2) optimal thrust for cruise flight - 70-75% at 28 000 ft.
3) optimal thrust for take off and low altitude - 90-100%
G - Landing gear;
AG2 + VTOL slider - Flaps; (0% = Flaps retracted, 50% DOWN = takeoff position 100% DOWN = landing position)
AG3 - Aileron trim (VTOL Up- roll left, Down - right). If AG 7 is active (directional autopilot) - it also activates a gyro roll controll with VTOL for gentle turns
AG5 - fuel dump system
AG6 - Landing. Lights;
AG7 - Ascend autopilot (Activate and set trim for ascend/descend. Can turn gently, than stabilizes
AG8 - Ground steering (sensitivity adjustment, when AG8 deactivated - steers to the limit, when activated - steers 5 degrees) Positions - AG8 - ON on Take off/Landing/In flight, AG8 OFF for the ground movements
Approach with full flaps at 40% thrust, trim 1/2 UP. Near the runway - set exactly 32-33. Over the runway edge - 25-28 and touch down. Plane is real life heavy - so it is quite inertial.
Take off - flaps 1/2 down, trim 1/2 up, 100% thrust. Ascend at slow rate with 90-100% thrust. At higher altitude adjust thrust around 70-90%

@ChiChiWerx well, i had not yet understood how to use funky trees, and now just playing with my old creations. Simplewings mod is actually very useful as it allows to tune flight modell a lot more than stock ones, especially stall specs. An it also adds good visual effects for airflow separation. I'm truing to make flaps more realistic now. Also it allows for exeptional programming interceptors with several inputs (instead of 9 rotators in my cv880). And drag tuning allowed to make planes glide at last, and made airbrakes really useful.
About the car - it is kinda amg of 80s. Amg was an independent company then, so for this model Cosworth is an official factory tuner with 190e 2.3-16 (mine) and 2.5-16 being like current c45 AMG (cheeper variant) and 2.5-16 Evolution as current top C63 amg. But essentially it is not AMG which is more like a luxury musclecar, but is a mercedes version of BMW M3 - torally much more a true racecar. It is very light (1 250 kg), very stiff suspension and no luxury features. Handles amasingly, it drives a lot better than my current daily driver - 2013 cls 350d. There was also an AMG version too, with a 3,6 inline 6 engine, but it handles a lot worse due to heavy engine. And there is still a lot work left with a car. Its in not so bad condition, but far from mint. It still needs some paintjob, interior restoration and a gearbox is whining, it works but definitely asks for a rebuilt. And there is a lot of tuning planned, very least i want to buy a torsen differential, adjustable shockabsorbers and a new engine intake.
Isn’t that the hot rod Mercedes? Or was there an AMG version of that car? What motor does is have?
I hear you, I’ve been working on a repaint and rebuild of an old Benotto road bicycle, so SP has been on and off for awhile. A project car, especially an older Merc sounds a lot more involved than anything I’m working on. But, there are a lot of new improvements besides drag reduction; Funky Trees being the most notable. Plus, it makes sequenced landing gear and doors possible without the crazy free rotators and shock setup you used to use. I must ask, though, why use those mods? Makes it a bit more difficult for the casual user or those who’d prefer to avoid downloading a bunch of mods...
@ChiChiWerx HI! Yes, it me) Since we all work from home due to the quarantine i have some more time. Also, the new update that allow editing drag gave me some interest in the game again. Unfortunately, my SSD died last fall, along with several new creations, since than i've lost some interest to play. and also, i've bought a 1988 sporty Mercedes 190e Cosworth as a hobby car, so that was probably the main time consumer)))
Mercedes photos
@asteroidbook345 Yes, but hope these are just rumors. At leas they are going around for 2-3 years an yet nothing happened. Anyway, rumors tell that they are not going to tear down the museum, but to unite it with tank museum in Kubinka. Still there is a question how they can move those bigger planes if so.
Von Hubert...? Is that you?!? It is you, it IS you!!!
@asteroidbook345 unlikely) all three are in museums. And a bill for restoration of such an old 190 tonn plane would probably be not less than the same 190, but in million USD))) or half a billion easy)))
@asteroidbook345 a, yaeh. There are three left, all in nice condition, and there are spare parts more or less available, but unlikely there is a billionaire eager to buy and restore them....
@asteroidbook345 what do you mean?
p.s. i think i gonna finish it one day, 2years passed)))) Unfortunately, i've lost all the progress since this version with my SSD along with 2 new planes - giant flying boat and a cargo plane (with hollow fuselage and loading equipment) based on tu-114 ((( It had an updated cockpit with better visibility and partially finished landing gear. Cant say i have more time now, but last update allowed to change drag on the planes, so they finally fly like they should and can glide, that restored some interest. I've already remade tu-104a, tu-104d-3 and myasichev 3m with lower drag, will post soon
@asteroidbook345 yep) thats exactly the plane he flew to washington )
Hm, rocket motors mod is not used... weird...
