1997 Mercedes Benz CLK GTR
4 Months to create perfection
history
In 4 months, Mercedes will create a machine so powerful, that it causes a whole racing series to collapse, and they did it by taking the dominant machine of the Meclaran f1, and reverse engineering it to create the infamous Mercedes Benz CLK GTR, for the 1997 season. The execs at Mercedes gave the team 128 days to create a racing machine like the 911 gt1. Make a fast race car, and slap some production headlights on it. With such a short timeframe the designers bought an F1 gtr, and refitted the body and engine to make they're own test mull. It saw amazing success, but eventually was wrecked, and they put the car back together and sold it, but it gave them valuable knowledge, and helped create automotive mastery. In 1999 the gt1 class of the BPR Global GT series as all the competitors dropped out after Mercedes won all 10 of the races in 1998.

Builders note: this has been a rather lengthy project, not as much as the next gen stock car in the works but still been awhile. I tried my best to get as much detail as i could and did as good as my phone could do. The project has helped me learn some new techniques, and have gotten better at part efficancy. Ever sense watching a documentary on the CLK GTR I knew I had to make this car, and love how it turned out. Enjoy!
keep looking to the stars

@PapaKernels hey man, i made some sort of prototype, if you want to see it i could upload it, so you can compare it to your model
@JustAN3 I'd like to see what your talking about if u could 😂
@PapaKernels no in game
@JustAN3 this build or the irl car?
I've seen this from tiktok 💀
@PapaKernels Thanks man, i’ll credit you in it
@Chubster yea go ahead! Tbh i thought of making one too but I couldn't find good blueprints for it.
Hey @PapaKernels, i’ve been working on transforming it into a CLR instead of a CLK GTR. When im finished, can i upload it? I will give you massive credits for making the base vehicle
@Sigmaeric123 on the real car it was aero. The wheelbase was to short leading to aero instability, was shaped more like an airfoil so it created lift more than it did downforce. At least Thats what I understand. Theres definitely videos on the topic
@PapaKernels what's wrong is it the center of gravity or just the aerodynamics?
