Steam key/Amazon gift card challenge
Steam Key/Amazon gift card challenge
There will be two brackets for this challenge. One for mobile users who wish to win a top prize of a Steam key, and another for pc users who wish to win a top prize of a $25 Amazon gift card. You may enter in either challenge, but you cannot enter both.
The prizes are as follows
Amazon gift card bracket
1st place: $25 Amazon gift card
2nd place: $10 Amazon gift card
3rd place: Android/Apple version of mobile SimplePlanes
Steam key bracket
1st place: Steam key for SimplePlanes
2nd place: $10 Amazon gift card
3rd place: Android/Apple version of mobile SimplePlanes
The challenge is as follows:
Your task is to create a vehicle that is capable of easily navigating land, sea, and air. It may start out either on a runway or in the water. There must be a movement of parts or a transformation from at least one mode to another. Bonus point for moving parts or transformations for each mode.
The vehicle must be combat ready and capable of attacking and defending itself from land, sea, and air. It must also contain countermeasures of your choice.
It will be highly appreciated if the vehicle were VTOL capable, but that won't be required so long as the vehicle can land on the runway or in the water.
The judges will be looking specifically at these key areas:
Functionality - How well the vehicle performs in its maneuvering as well as combat as well as ease of use.
Handling - How well the vehicle handles and responds to control inputs on land, sea, and air.
Balance: How well the vehicle maintains its own level and true balance on land, sea, and air.
Aesthetics: How visually appealing the designs shape and colors are.
Details: How detailed the design is. It is highly encouraged to create a cockpit for your vehicle. Even if you can't make all of the moving parts of a fully functioning cockpit, a cockpit of some sort is suggested.
The scores will be rated out of a possible 5 points for each category by the 3 different judges independently of each other. The values of those ratings will then be combined. A perfect score by one judge would result in a score of 25 points. A perfect score by all three judges will result in a score of 75 points. The users with the three highest point totals in each bracket will be awarded the prizes.
The challenge starts today 9/25/2017 and it concludes one month from now on 10/25/2017. Please have your submissions in by by 12:00 am as indicated by the time located in the bottom left corner of the website.

Oh no need to apologize, yeah it must be hard with kids to look after and like a billion planes to judge @TheLatentImage
@F4f879 we're still working on judging. The three judges being myself, Kevin Murphy, and WalrusAircraft Sr. We're all parents with full time jobs, so trying to find the appropriate time has been tricky. I do apologize for the delay and we will try to get everything finished up and the results posted as soon as we possibly can.
Who won?
Gotcha, thanks =)
@Gravity the Steam key is provided by Jundroo and will be issued by email I presume. The Amazon gift cards are provided by me and can be issued through email by myself, or through email by Jundroo if someone has an issue with recieving it through email by me.
How do you get the card/key TO the winner?
@TheLatentImage I made a thing...

No problem. Patience and respect is part of simple planes. You need patience when making planes, and expecting things from people, and respect when making planes and when commenting things to people. @TheLatentImage
@Lylian thanks man, I appreciate that. I just try to do what's right and to treat everyone with patience and respect.
@TheLatentImage You have way more knowledge then me into this. It appears to me that you are the most active moderator (from my observation. I may be wrong), and you seem good at being a moderator.
@Lylian sure thing man, I may not be the most knowledgeable person here but I can make blue links. Lol
Oh, ok, thank you. @TheLatentImage
@Lylian would look like this [like this] (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/D4SV6V/XML-com-Free-XML-piece-ordering-currently-open-Read-Description) but remove the space between the right bracket and the left parentheses.
Speaking of someone helping them out with XML modding:

By the way, how do you put a direct link into a comment?
@Lylian well, I'm not going to limit xml editing on a mobile device. If you are able to do so, then you may. Ios users can rotate and nudge parts now, which is hugely beneficial. If they need something xml edited I'm sure that someone will help them out.
@TheLatentImage Thanks. I know how it feels to only have the Mobil version, and using the computer version would almost be "cheating" to me when "competing" against other IOS users. Especially when using XML modding, which I don't think I can resist using when making something on computer.
@Lylian I appreciate you doing that in consideration of of the other users. That shows good character of you.
Ok, I will use mobile version to play fair (if I enter).
@Lylian It is preferred that the submissions for the steam key be made on a mobile device, but that is not a requirement as I am not barring people who are using a mobile device from entering into the Amazon gift card bracket.
This is probably a bad question, but can you go for the steam key even if you are a pc user. My friend @BlackhattAirlines has the IOS version, and I want him to get the steam version so we can play together using the multiplayer mod. The thing is, I know it would not be fair for IOS users going fir the steam key, which is why I am asking this question.
