The 155mm M440 howitzer is the main towed medium-we eight artillery piece of the Paternian Armed Forces as a divisonal-level artillery piece.
Maximum effective range is at 24km (15 miles) with standard-range shells, 32.1km (20 miles) with base-bleed ERFB shells, and 45.1km (28 miles) with Excalibur GPS-guided shells. In Paternian service, the gun simply known as the "One-Fifty-Five" or "One-Five-Five" on account of its caliber, or the "Four-Forty" on account of its designation.
They were well-regarded in their service in Algeria and Japan, where it was most useful for counter-battery fire against enemy guns in addition to neutralizing bunkers. Most feared was the VT-fuzed shells; these fuzes allowed for precise detonation of the shell above
