The Beschutzer Class is a group of ten Minesweepers built for the Royal Equestrian Navy and Coast Guard, and currently operated by the Royal Sovereign Navy and the Coast Guard.

In Great Country Modern Navy Doctrine, Minesweepers are generally the all-around vessel for the National Coast Guards. They tend to become Offshore Patrol Vessels according to their capabilities. Minesweepers are the most smallest class of vessels both in the Navy and Coast Guard.

Service History

Beschutzer, Diamant, Umarmung, Sicherheit joined the Royal Equestrian Navy and replacing the old Sweeper Class remaining in the Navy. They became the new ships of the Flottenkehrergruppe, The sole minesweeping group of the Equestrian Navy. The remaining ships Kehrmaschine, Reiniger, Hausmeister, Unterlegscheibe, Desinfektionsmittel, and Gärtner, went to the Coast Guard under one group.

All of the ships were active during their peacetime career as they provide off-shore patrol duties. The first four ships were always present in Fleet Shows of the Royal Equestrian Navy.

Sanistan Revolution

During the 2nd week of Sanistan Revolution, The Equestrian Government decided to send in elements to speed up the process of evacuating Equestrians in Northern Sanistan region. The Coast guard decided to send elements from 3rd Küstenpatrouillengruppe, 5th Küstenpatrouillengruppe and TheKüstenfegergruppe, which were all the six Beschutzers are assigned. The Navy decided to not send it's Minesweeper Group but instead send it's 1st Küstenstreikgruppe.

The Coast Guard and the Navy continued to ferry troops back and fourth from North Sanista to mainland Equestria without any encounters or attacks from the Rebels. Approximately 900 Equestrian have manage to get back home.

On September 24 2099, The Rebels attacked KKWS Kehrmaschine using two salvoes of Anti-Tank Missiles killing 34 of it's 50 crewmen. Kehrmaschine was heavily damaged that she was forced to be beached. Not long after, The captain of Kehrmaschine was considered damage beyond repair and officially declared lost in action. The event quickly reached the Königlicher Palast and the Monarch quickly made an assessment.

Not long after the event, KKWS Hausmeister and KKWS Desinfektionsmittel was attacked two days later killing 8 Equestrians and injuring 25.

After the event, the Kingdom of Equestria declared war against the Rebels.
With the war declared, The Royal Equestrian Navy was able to mobilize it's forces. They sent in elements from the Royal Central Fleet, 12th Fast Strike Group,1st Bombardment Group, 5th Amphibious Assault Group and the only Minesweeping group, Flottenkehrergruppe.

The Coast Guard recalled the the survivors of Küstenfegergruppe sending their damage vessels,Hausmeister and Desinfektionsmittel, back to the mainland for repairs. The rest stayed and help the Equestrians.

Both the Flottenkehrergruppe and Küstenfegergruppe saw extensive service on the war. Due to their relatively low speed and small weaponry, they however spend their time patrolling the coastal regions of the battlefields. In some cases however they helped gunning down guerilla fighters and shot down rebel owned patrol boats.

In some cases however, elements from both group were involved into a rescue mission where soldiers were kidnapped. Beschutzer, Umarmung and Gartner was involved in the chase. During the chase, they shot down 13 patrol boats that attempted to stop them. Umarmung was hit by an Anti-Tank rockets which heavily damaged her and was forced to retreat. The two other Beschutzers were able to stay on scene until the chase is over.

During the rest of the Rebellion, The remaining Beschutzers ferried civilians back and forth until the war is over.

Features

A very simple build, the ship only features four machine guns and has a top speed of 18 knots. That's all
