Convair XF-92A

16.5k Darkmoon  1.4 years ago

The Convair XF-92 (re-designated from XP-92 in 1948) was an American, delta wing, first-generation jet prototype. Originally conceived as a point-defence interceptor, the design was later used purely for experimental purposes and only one was built. However, it led Convair to use the delta-wing on a number of designs, including the F-102 Delta Dagger, F-106 Delta Dart, B-58 Hustler, the US Navy's F2Y Sea Dart as well as the VTOL FY Pogo. @McChezborger That's usually not the case but ok. This just looks really similar to mine even though it isn't

@asteroidbook345 I’m just commenting on the fact that every time somebody makes the same plane as someone else they say it’s a ripoff

Based and triangle-pilled. This looks amazing and accurate, cheers from Reddit.

@McChezborger I’m…honestly at a bit of a loss because they look so incredibly similar. The colors are exactly the same, the texture of the flaps and the construction methods look almost identical, but I legitimately have no idea. The gear is a lot more simple and there are no bays for it but then again I’m wondering why someone would go through the trouble of removing mine and patching them over. As for the nose probe and pitot tube on the tail they look like the same shape but they also could have just been good at following blueprints. Beats me
